ICA, a signatory of the Business World Plastic Initiative aiming to reduce plastic consumption and continuing its activities with a Zero Waste Certificate, has completed the installation of the 'Sound Barrier' obtained by recycling waste tires collected from the Northern Ring Highway. While the project contributes to the circular economy, it also reduces noise caused by the highway.
Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge and Northern Ring Motorway Operator ICA continues to undertake innovative projects within the scope of its sustainability-oriented business strategy. ICA contributes to the protection of the environment, road safety and noise reduction with the Sound Barrier Project produced by recycling waste tires collected from the highway. Within the scope of the Sound Barrier Project, as a result of the sound analysis carried out in the Kilyos-Zekeriyaköy region of the highway, a sound barrier approximately 2 kilometers long was installed in the region. Thus, vehicle noise was reduced to a minimum level on sections of the highway passing near residential areas.
