CONSTRUCTION PERIOD

Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge and Northern Ring Motorway which was constructed and is being managed by consortium of serves as junction point of trough transport between the two continents and contribute to relieving Istanbul traffic. 

Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge and Northern Ring Motorway construction project which had several firsts that can be considered as milestones for engineering history of the world, has started at the date of 29th May 2013 with a groundbreaking ceremony and has been commissioned in a record time period of 3 years, at 26th August 2016. 

There are 8 lanes of motorway and 2 lanes of railway located in the same level of Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge which is a product of advanced engineering and technology. The bridge has already taken its place among world’s greatest bridges with its aesthetics and technical features and is called as “the bridge of firsts”. 

Aside from being the world’s widest bridge with its 59 meters of width and being the one with the longest span that has a rail on it with 1.408 meters of main span, it is also the suspension bridge with the biggest tower which is over 322 meters of height.
