"(S)he Works, I Care" campaign, which reveals the critical role of employees in highway operations and aims to increase the safety of traffic workers, was launched by ICA in Turkey.

The awareness campaign aims to ensure that highway field workers are noticed by drivers, reduce accident rates and raise social awareness on traffic safety.

"(S)he Works, I Care" awareness campaign was launched by ICA to reduce accident rates and raise awareness on traffic safety by emphasizing the vital importance of highway field workers. The campaign aims to ensure that everyone who undertakes operational tasks and works to ensure traffic safety at all times, from traffic field teams who respond to incidents that adversely affect traffic safety to maintenance teams who keep the highway operational 24/7, are recognized by drivers and raise public awareness on traffic safety. The campaign, which took place simultaneously in 17 member countries of the Association of European Toll Road Infrastructure Operators (ASECAP), draws attention to both occupational safety and improving driver behavior to increase the safety of highway users. On June 12, field activities demonstrated the challenging working conditions of highway workers, while trainings for heavy vehicle drivers aimed to improve driver behavior.

Highway workers not only maintain the roads, but also play a vital role in road safety, working day and night to ensure that drivers can travel safely, comfortably and quickly. This project draws attention to these invisible heroes who play a major role in ensuring that road users reach their loved ones, ambulances reach patients, fire brigades respond to fires and cargo reaches the right addresses on time.

Raising awareness with field activities

As part of the awareness campaign, field activities were held on June 12 with the participation of drivers, once again highlighting the importance of highway workers. During the event, participants had the opportunity to observe the working conditions of highway field teams on site. Thus, they developed a better understanding of the challenges faced in operational processes and the daily lives of these heroes.
As part of this important project, which aims to draw attention to passenger and highway worker safety and raise awareness on this issue, a special event was organized at Bi Mola resting facilities in Reşadiye on Wednesday, June 12. In cooperation with Hed Academy, seat belt simulator and blind spot awareness trainings were organized for heavy vehicle drivers.
